Happy Halloween

Who - or what - is that lurking in the shadows?  No worries, it's our cat-friend, guarding the castle from intruders (or getting hungry).

Eugene, Oregon - Owen Rose Garden

To break the redundancy of painting views of the Smith and Bybee Wetlands, I painted one of the Owen Rose Garden in Eugene (if anyone is reading this and is not familiar with Oregon, Eugene is about 110 miles/180 km south of Portland).

still life and cat

Here's two different versions of the same idea, the presumption, albeit rightly so, on the part of our small cat friend that he's more interesting than a floral still life painting.  I thought "still life and cat" was more apt than "still life with cat" as he is unable to remain still for long, as demonstrated in the second version.

Portland - Smith and Bybee Wetlands

Toward the end of summer I discovered the Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area, hidden in industrial North Portland.  I painted a number of pictures based on views there.  Here's the first of this series.
