About

Welcome to the archived art blog of Margaret M. Lin.  I am now posting on my website, margaretmlin.com.

The name, Small Grey Cat Studio, is in honor of our beloved small grey cat, who lived to a grand old age of 21.  He was a great cat-friend and an "artistic" inspiration to me.  My husband and I lost him in October 2011.

We still miss him and probably always will.
Our Small Grey Cat (not so small by some standards, actually).
As you can see from my postings, other than fanciful illustrations and stories, I paint mostly landscapes.  They're taken from my travels to places near and far.  I love paths, water, trees, shadows, solitude, and mystery.  I'm a self-taught artist, heavily inspired by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists.

I also briefly posted things meant to be tangentially related to the writing part of my life on Large Yellow Dog Studio.

Feel free to browse through my art.  I hope you get some enjoyment out of my little corner of the blogging universe. Thanks for visiting!
