the puppy before there was a puppy

We'd been thinking about getting a pup for the last month or so.  I drew this for a card for my husband last month during the contemplation stage (or my obsession stage, as my husband viewed it).  At the time I was considering a labrador retriever so that's why this little guy looks nothing like Nigel.
